CD Review: Celtic Thunder "It's Entertainment!"

A couple or so weeks ago, I purchased Celtic Thunder's new CD "It's Entertainment!", but what it should really be called is "It's Embarrassment!" LOL!  Most of the songs on this one are a few that have been popular within the past 30 years, so I don't really care for it.
Ya know, I always thought Celtic Thunder was supposed to be 5 Celtic guys singing Celtic music, but nooooo!  Not only do they sing these goofy songs (save for "Amazing Grace"), there's a WOMAN that sings an entire song by herself!  It's so weird.

Here are the track listings and how I feel about the songs:

1. "Home"-
Sung by Damian.  I don't particularly care for this song, he kinda ruins it at times, to be honest.  I've never heard the original but this is just blech.

2. "Life With You"-
Sung by George.  I actually don't mind this song because I like all of his songs.  He's got a really nice voice and sings this one wonderfully.  Once again I've never heard the original of this one either, but I like his.

3. "Lough Swilly Railway"-
Instrumental (written by the producer or whoever he is, lol, Phil Coulter).  This one is good, but it sounds too much like one of his other ones.

4. "Hallelujah"-
Sung by Keith, Ryan, and Neil (their guitarist).  I actually do REALLY like this song.  Their voices go so well together on this one and it's just really nice.

5. "Just Like Jesse James"-
Sung by Charley Bird (the WOMAN!).  I really do not like this one at all.  There should be no woman in Celtic Thunder.  Even though she's not really in the group, that's not the point.  In my opinion, no woman should sing on their songs or of course sing one by themselves.  I only listened to it to see if any of the guys sang on it at all, nope!  This song just needs to fall off the face of the earth, haha!

6. "Hard To Say I'm Sorry"-
Sung by Keith.  I love this song, he sounds really nice on it and I think he was the perfect choice to sing it.

7. "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown"-
Sung by Ryan.  This song is ok, Ryan definitely has the best voice suited for it.  The 'd' word is said during the chorus, though, so that's not cool, but it's a strange song, lol.

8. "Doo Wacka Doo"-
Sung by *gulp* Paul.  Oh gosh!  Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!  It's bad enough that they would put on such a goofy song but to have Paul sing it is a terrible mistake.  He has a sort-of operatic voice that soooo does not fit the genre of the song.

9. "Amazing Grace"-
Sung by Keith, George, Ryan, Paul, Damian, (the original 5) and Neil.  I really like their version, it's soft and Neil sounds pretty good with them.  Nicely done.

10. "Hello Again"-
Sung by George.  Once again, you can't really go wrong with a 'George song'.  He has a really good voice and sings this song quite well.  Granted I've never heard the original, but I don't have to :p

11. "When You Wish Upon A Star"-
Sung by Neil.  To be perfectly honest with you all, I have never once heard this entire version.  I was already embarrassed when I saw they sing it but then to hear a little bit of it....well, I just went to the next song.  It was much too embarrassing and I really don't understand why they would chose that song, it's just weird!  So, I can't give an honest rating for this one since I've never heard the whole thing and I don't know that I ever will, it's THAT embarrassing!

12. "Standing On The Corner"-
Sung by Damian.  I don't like this song, it's weird.  I don't like his voice on it.  Mommy said that the way he sings it is how it is originally sung, but I think it's gotta sound better than his.  Oh gosh, I actually just heard the first few seconds of the song on youtube.com and immediately enjoyed a LOT better than Damian's.  He makes it annoying, if I'm to be truly critical here.  Now, I'm going to tell you all that the very first time I heard Damian's voice, I was impressed and liked it a lot.  It's still nice but he kind of, well, ruins the niceness of it.

13. "Surfer Medley"- ("Surf City/Fun, Fun, Fun/Surfin' USA")
Sung, of course, by Keith.  I really like this song as well.  I love how Keith sounds on it.  In my own personal opinion, Keith should come out with his own Celtic music CD.  I love his voice the best and just think he's the best out of all five of them.  If I could convince him to come out with his own Celtic music CD, I would, 'cause, in my opinion, he needs to;)

14. "Sway"-
Sung by Paul.  Don't really care for this song, it's a little weird actually.

15. "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You"-
Sung by Ryan.  I really like this song a lot.  He sings it wonderfully and I think he has the best voice suited for it as well.  Very nice and smooth, it's a good one.

16. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"-
Sung by Keith, George, Ryan, Paul, Damian, and Neil.  This song isn't bad.  I like it better than U2's...then again I don't really like U2 anyways.  It's a nice ending to the CD....hopefully, it is the end to Celtic Thunder's goofiness as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes my friends, that is my opinion of Celtic Thunder's latest CD.  Please don't get me wrong, I really do like them and actually LOVE their first 3 CD's, but this is a total letdown.
I've been a fan of them from day one and they totally let me down here, not cool.  I'll keep supporting them, but I do so hope they get better from this stuff!
Cheers!
God bless!
Happy Birthday Daddy!!!
First of all, everyone wish my Daddy a 'Happy Birthday!' because today is his Birthday :)
Second of all, I have some things to share :)
I do not know any guys right now and therefore have no prospects of a future husband but I would like to share my idea of a relationship with a guy.
Personally, I don't want to touch a guy (or him touch me) unless it's my future husband but after we're married.  I haven't always felt this way until I read about Josh & Noelle Goforth not holding hands or touching each other until after they were married.  I was so inspired by that and decided that's how I want to be.
I've always wanted a pair of pretty, lacy gloves to wear, but especially now for another reason: I once shook hands with a young guy and found it weird to touch him (not that he felt funny, lol) because I'm not used to doing that, so to have those dainty little gloves would be perfect.
I also totally believe in Courtship and praying for God's guidance, waiting for His timing, etc.  There is only one man for me and God knows who he is and though it is hard at times, I have to trust Him.
I'm not saying it's easy for me to just say, "Ah, God knows who he is so I won't think about anyone else", because it isn't easy!
I think, as girls, it is quite easy to look at a guy and think "Wow!  Is he attractive!" (which I do and Mommy can attest to that!) but extremely difficult to rid oneself of the thought.  I've had goofy little crushes on guys before and still struggle with that even though there is only one man for me and I pray for him!
My Mommy and Guitargirl can totally attest to my goofy little crushes (one in particular)!
There is a post I wrote before about a 'certain guy' I liked and he doesn't even know I exist, plus he's in a different Country and I will most likely never meet him.  I know nothing important about him anyway and don't think he is a Christian, I do not know for sure.  Sometimes, I still struggle with that, too.
Anyway, I want to save EVERYTHING for my future husband...and AFTER we're married.
My single years are supposed to be a time of growth and preparation for being a wife and mommy someday and I don't want to waste this time daydreaming about falling in love, there is no point in it.  It will happen in God's time and my daydreaming about it isn't going to rush the process, rather it'll make it feel that time is going so slow and that DEFINITELY doesn't help!
I know it's hard, but as daughters of the One and Only King, we must trust Him and pray.
We must pray for patience, for peace, a greater trust in Him, and pray for our future husband, whether or not we know who he is.  We don't have to pray for him by name, God has known since before there was time who he is :)  We must rest in that!
It's not easy, but with prayer and talking with our loved ones and asking them for prayer, telling them when we're having a hard time with it, it makes it a bit easier.  It's always wonderful knowing that you have someone praying for you....one of the best feelings in the world!
God bless!
Painting #2
Hey peeps,
As a couple of you folks know, I'm taking painting lessons from my Memaw.  On Friday I finished my second painting so I would like to share it with you:
First of all, here is the original.  It's a little Christmas card:
Here's mine:
Here is an up-close picture of my signature:
I rather like it actually.  I think my little bird is cute, lol.  Memaw loves my little doggie as well :)  I know the little boy is wearing different colors on the card, but Memaw and I liked it this way.
Changing the subject:
Yesterday was a lovely day!  God blessed us with gorgeous weather!  It was like almost 50*f and sunny, oh it was so beautiful!  The meteorologists said we were supposed to have rain all day but that didn't start until last night.  It is raining today and it's cloudy and foggy but I like it :)
Laters!
God bless!
My Hope Chest
Howdy peeps!  My friend, Meghan, has asked me to take pictures of the stuff in my Hope Chest, so I finally got around to doing it :)
I think it's very important for a young lady to have a Hope Chest, no matter her age.  That way she can have things to decorate her house and have things for her kitchen and other things for her little ones someday.  She can make her house feel like a home to her hubby and all who enter it.  It's so much more special, I think, to decorate your house with your own handmade things and I think your hubby will like it too and feel special that you made it partly for him :)
Ok, let's start my little tour:
First we will start off with a few little toys that I played with as a child and wanted to save for my girls :)
REAL Polly Pockets!!!!
A little Precious Moments Nativity.
My baby spoon, lol.
A little Precious Moments doll.  (I LOVE Precious Moments!).
One of my little critters I had as a baby :)
Kitchen items.  There are bowls in bubble wrap and measuring spoons in bubble wrap.  I didn't really want to fool with removing the bubble wrap and then putting it back.  All the red things, my bff and 'sis', Monica gave me for this last Christmas :)  Oh and then there's a pink rubber spatula and a rolling pin :)
Handkerchiefs and pink flour sacks.
 A hand mirror from my Daddy's side of the family.  It's old, lol, I can't remember who's it was.  The fan my Mommy got when she went to Hawaii several years ago (before we ever came along ;)) and the afghan she made for my cousin Jeremy when he was a baby but never finished it.
My Above Rubies magazines.  I always save an extra one when we get them and put it in my Hope Chest.
Journals that I filled up starting in '02.  There are 10 of them.
Some stitcheries and a little quilt I have yet to start.
An apron Mommy and I made for me when I was a wee lass!  (Hard to believe I was ever that tiny, lol!).
A dress Mommy made me when I was little.  It's probably my favorite, I love the little jacket!
And another one.
And another one with a sash.
One more.
I'm hoping these will fit my girls someday :)
There were a few other little things, but one was in a taped little box and I didn't want to fool with that.
To tell you the truth, I don't have a Hope Chest.  I have two plastic 'Hope Boxes'.  I used to have a Hope Chest, but it kinda fell apart, so I need a new one :)
Ok, well I hope you enjoyed my little tour of my 'Hope Box'.
Goodbye for now!
God bless!
Grace be with you!
Ghostly Oil!
S'goin on folkies?  Ya know what's awesome?  God blessed us with MORE deer in our backyard yesterday!  I took some pictures:
That guy there was havin' a good ole time eatin' offa that branch, lol!
Chris and I actually saw 6 but I couldn't get all of them in the same picture.  Anyways, it was so dang awesome!
Oh, I wanted to show a picture of my candle that my friend, Monica, gave me for Christmas all lit up, 'cause it's so dang purdy! :
I took some pictures at night too, but they don't look very good so this is one I took in the daytime :)  Isn't it pretty????
I also made some Butterscotch Cookies and a Pecan Pie yesterday which are sooo dang good, lol!  Here's some pictures:
Some of the cookies BEFORE the frosting.
Now, AFTER the frosting :)
My Pecan Pie:
Oh yyyyeeeeaaaahhhh!!!!!!
I was putting oil in a frying pan last night for chicken and had to take picture of it because it looked like a ghostly face, so I did, yes I'm weird....but we've known that all along ;)
 It looked better before but I didn't have my camera ready.
A few weeks ago I got a package in the mail from my second cousin, Della (Mommy's cousin), it was a Birfday gift from her!  I thought it was soooo sweet and I just LOVE it! :
She know-eth me so well!  I can NEVER have too many journals!
So ya know, Mommy and I went out for awhile today and had a swell time.  We went to Starbucks and we had to find my Celtic Thunder CD (which we found...I will post about that on a later date) and we also got some new tops which are sooo cute!
Anyways, I'll let you go now, so bye!
God bless!
Grace be with you!
We Have LOTS of Snow!!
So, what do you do on a weekend when you can't go anywhere because of snow?  And it looks like this outside:
Well, first of all, you thank God for the beautiful snow!!
Then, you open your front door and see little birdie footprints and thank God for that cute little scene:
Plus, you have to make Apple Fritters for your brother because he has been wanting some and you love him so much :)
You also love your Daddy so much that you make him Sugar Cookies because he's been wanting cookies and he didn't really care for the Fritters:
On a night when you're going to have Cheeseburger Soup for supper you HAVE to make homemade white bread to go along with it because that's the best!:
(Before it's baked)
(After it's baked...and you forget to take a picture of both the loaves so after one is gone and the other has a few slices taken off of it, you take a picture of the remains)
Of course, you also love your Mommy so much, but she likes all the things you make :)
And that, my friends, is what you do on a glorious snowy weekend when you can't go anywhere.  However, you should always praise the Lord no matter what!
Oh oh!  I got a new CD the other day!  It's Andrea Bocelli's "Amore"  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!  (Even if he does sing a duet with Christina Aguilera and I don't like her voice but can bear it on that song).
Goodbye my friends!
God bless!
Grace be with you!
Happy Birthday Cristiano Ronaldo!
Today is (obviously) Cristiano Ronaldo's Birthday.  He turns 25:)
Cristiano plays for Real Madrid.  He used to play for Manchester United but ya know, he left and that makes me sad:(
His full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, which, in English, is Christian Ronald of Saints Aveiro.  Yeah, I think that's an awesome name!
He is Portuguese and grew up in Funchal, Madeira.  Here's a picture of it:
Hmm, let's see if I can think of anything else that might be interesting.
He has won SEVERAL awards for being like the best player on the planet.
He's kind of funny and has a funny laugh, LOL!  (I'll put up a video of that;)) (and no offense to him or anything;)).
Now onto the picture part where I will be sharing some of my favorite pictures of him:)
(Yeah, that's not disturbing, lol!)
This one is my all-time favorite picture of him!:
That's Sir Alex Ferguson with him, he's the manager of Manchester United.
K, I think that's enough pictures;)  Now, I'll go find that video I promised you.
The second guy in the video is Nani, but you can hear Cristiano make a funny noise in the background.
Here's another video of him 'dancing' with the ball.
I do believe this is the longest Birthday post I've written for someone I don't know, lol!
Oh, he needs a cake!
I know he plays for Real Madrid now but I couldn't find a Real Madrid Birthday cake so this will have to do!
Ok, I just found a video of him singing, you GOTTA watch this, LOL!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRISTIANO RONALDO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laters!
God bless!
