Picture Post

I have a lot of pictures that I want to put on here, 17, if I'm not mistaken, lol, so bear with me ;)

A book I was reading just because it's Christmas-y.  It's romance stories and I don't like romance so I stopped reading it.  There were 4 stories in it, and I only read two.  The third one, I knew who she was going to marry in the very first paragraph, so that was it.

What I'm reading now: "To Have and To Hold" by Mary Johnston.

A list of books I want to get out of the library after the New Year.  Books on those certain subjects.

What I was listening to, whilst reading and taking the pictures.

Chris moved my room around for me, so this is what it now looks like.  No, my bed does not have bedding on it.

My little table with books and journals and other stuff...and a coffee from McDonald's :)

At Mawmaw's putting up her tree, with my Peppermint Mocha Latte from Starbucks!

An ornament my Daddy made when he was little!  No one really knows what it is, I don't even think he does, lol ;)

Mawmaw's tree.

The angel on top.  It was on my Daddy's tree when he was little :)

Another ornament my Daddy made when he was little.  Once again, no one knows what it is, but we like it :)

An ornament my Pawpaw made when he was little!

A photograph of my Mawmaw and Pawpaw on their Wedding day.  Sorry the picture isn't very good.

A book I got out from the library.

What I was listening to while looking through and reading the book.
I was also listening to it while making these:

Aren't they cute??  I think the little red ones look like Rudolphs :)  I made them yesterday for Christmas.  The Barlow Girls made them and Alyssa had a picture of them on her Twitter, mine aren't made like theirs were but I couldn't find round pretzels and anyway I think mine look cuter :)

Our lovely, uhhh, Christmas decoration that Chris did.  Candy canes on a chandelier, hmm ;)  I do like it :)

God has blessed us with some snow these past couple of days and there might be like an inch or so on the ground, I can't tell if it's still snowin, though.  I haven't taken any pictures of it, maybe I will sometime today, I don't know.  It takes so long ya know, so strenuous to take a picture, lol ;)
In the mean time, I'm watching an Inter Milan game now and we're up 1-nil in the 32nd minute :)  The goal came in the 15th minute :)

Hope you all are having a blessed Sabbath!
Grace be with you all!

Andrea Bocelli's "My Christmas"

The other day, Mommy got me Andrea Bocelli's new Christmas CD "My Christmas" and oh! how I love it!
For those of you who may not know, Andrea Bocelli is blind (he has been since he was 12 from a Football (Soccer) accident, though he never had good eyesight since birth), but oh my gosh! what a voice!  There is so much passion and power in his voice.  It is honestly a passion I have never heard in anyone else's voice, simply stunning.  He also plays several instruments, God has certainly blessed him with spectacular talent!
His Christmas CD is the only one of his I have, but I might look into more sometime.
"My Christmas" is the perfect Christmas CD.  In my opinion, buying it just for "Angels We Have Heard On High" is reason enough!  Never have I heard such a passionate, glorious version of that song, my favorite ever!  Of course, I LOVE every song on the album, but: WOW!
I've never been a huge fan of the song "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" but Mr. Bocelli's version is wonderful!  Best ever!
His Christmas CD is definitely one to add to your Christmas music collection!
Mr. Bocelli's "White Christmas" is unlike any I have ever heard, gorgeous.  It's incredible to think of a man with no sight singing so passionately about something he will never see, I don't know how to describe it, but it's just, I think, inspiring.  I always wish for a white Christmas but if I had it, would it be taken for granted?  I know it seems silly to talk like this, but think about it: wishing for something you can see and someone singing about something they can never see, it's just spectacular.
Mr. Bocelli also sings "Jingle Bells" with The Muppets, that's another one of those songs that was never one of my favorites until he sang it.  In my opinion, it's the best version ever!
"My Christmas" is the CD that put me in the Christmas-y mood this year (to read about my previous mood, scroll down to the post below).
I think I will conclude in saying: Andrea Bocelli's "My Christmas" is my very favorite Christmas CD ever (yes, even more so than Barlow Girl's!) and one, I think, should be added to everyone's Christmas music collection.  I give it a 5/5 :)
This is what the cover of his CD looks like:

Here is a video I found on youtube.com of him singing "Angels We Have Heard On High":

Christmas Woes

When I was little, Christmas was so exciting to me, the decorations, the gifts, seeing family, etc.  The past few years have been different though.  Yes, I still like the decorations and can't get enough of my family, but I haven't been excited about it for a few years.
In '06, I had myoclonic seizures practically all day, plus I had been pretty much dreading Christmas for some reason anyway.  My Daddy's family, I don't think, noticed I was having them (even though, while sitting on the floor (which is where I always sit on Christmas) one threw me against the deck door), so that was good.
When we were going to open the gifts at my Mommy's parents' house, I just kept having them (back then we didn't know what they really were).  Mommy, Daddy, Tommy, and Chris knew what I was doing but everyone else was asking me if I was ok.  Mommy said I should go lay down for awhile, so I did and they slowed down a lot.  What I didn't know until Mommy told me later was that my Uncle Randy also knew what I was doing and he went downstairs by himself and wept and prayed for me.
Since we didn't know what they were, we assumed they were tics so that's what Mommy told everyone.  Oh! my Mommy's family were so sweet about it!
Christmas of '07 wasn't bad because we did attend a Church and everyone went carolling at a nursing home, which was nice, except my Mommy started having an allergy attack from a dog they had there and she and Chris went out to the car.  She told me I could stay with everyone else, we weren't long though.  So that Christmas wasn't bad.
Last year, I was all worried about something that I will not mention, but a few days before Christmas I talked to Mommy about it and the next day started feeling better.
I can't really say that I'm looking forward to this Christmas because I know it will be hard without Pawpaw and I just wish sometimes that we didn't have to go through it.
Why can't I focus on Jesus Christ?  He is the Reason we celebrate.
Perhaps part of the reason is because we don't have a Church to attend anymore and I miss doing things with a Church family, especially around Christmas.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE doing things with my family but Mommy and Chris need friends.
Jesus Christ died that I might live and never die, to live eternally with Him, even though I am unworthy.  Why should I be distressed about Christmas when it's all for Jesus?
There is yet another reason that just came to me as to why I don't feel Christmas-y:  I used to have a little pink Christmas tree for Chris' and my room (not that Chris liked it but since I did, he didn't mind me putting it up), but don't have one anymore.  My point is, what sounds like fun to me is putting up a little pink tree on a rainy or snowy night (preferably snowy, of course) listening to Christmas music, and drinking eggnog with rum, lol! (or as I like to say 'rum with eggnog';)).  However, since I don't have one, I'm sure I'll get over it;)  After all, it's not about the decorations either, only the Risen Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ!
Of course, three more of my favorite things are family, food,....and fudge, lol!

Ok, until next time, please enjoy this video I saw on youtube.com of NEEDTOBREATHE 'Elf Yourself':

Fare thee well!

Gifts From Guitargirl

Last night, Mommy and I went out for a couple of hours, to Starbucks and then driving around looking for Christmas lights, we had a really nice time together.  The only problem last night was going to Starbucks actually, lol.  We decided to try their Eggnog Lattes so we got two venti lattes but didn't like 'em at all so were able to go through again and trade 'em for Peppermint Mochas.  The girl wasn't overly nice about doing it, but it was alright.  We LOVE the Peppermint Mochas so of course it was a lot better, lol!
Anyway, my awesome friend, Guitargirl, sent me my gift a little while ago and I got it yesterday and took pictures of what she gave me:)  She went ahead and gave me my Birfday gift too, since it's next month.  So, here are some pictures.

A scarf, a little Amish girl, a little white chocolate Christmas tree (to get back at me from when I sent her the Hannah Montana poster>:) (for those of you who do not know this about me, I REALLY do NOT like white chocolate, it's not even real chocolate!)), a Christmas card (which is, of course, none else but "A Christmas Story"!) and a Birfday card.

Here's one side of the purse:

and the other:

 Anyway, there you have it!
It is soooo cold and windy and cloudy today, I love it!  There were some snow flurries earlier but just a few and none of it stuck:(  Hopefully we'll get some soon.  To me, this weather is awesome and I thank the Lord for blessing us with it!

In other news, Inter Milan won today!!!!!!!!  Yea!  Woohoo!  Wahooey!  Glory!  LOL!  Go Inter!  Oh, and Manchester United won yesterday!!!!  Yea!  Woohoo!  Wahooey!  Glory!  LOL!  Go United!

K, well, I gotsa get ready to go because Mommy and I have to go to the grocery store so, laters!

In the mean time, enjoy this video I saw on youtube.com of Seth Bolt from NEEDTOBREATHE sitting next to an elderly lady:

Interview With My Brother, Chris

Howdy peeps!
I was wanting to write another post today but didn't know what to write so got the brilliant idea to interview my brother!  Let us begin:

Me:  So, how are you doing tonight?

Chris:  (chuckles) Very good, thank you.

Me:  What books are you reading right now?

Chris:  (chuckles) I'm reading "The Cross of Christ" by John Stott, "The Great Work of The Gospel" by John (*searches for the correct spelling of his name and sees his picture* "Hmm, didn't know he looked like that") Ensor, and I'm also working my way through "Spurgeon's Sermons" and uhh,

*ahem, short intermission.  Enjoy this picture of Charles Spurgeon.*

Ok folks, we're back:

Chris:  "Christ Crucified: The Marrow of The Gospel In 72 Sermons On Isaiah 53" (me: On Isaiah what?-Chris: Isaiah 53: it's a chapter-me:  Thank you!).

Me:  Are you highly enjoying your books?

Chris:  Uhh, yes.

Me:  Dat is gooood yah.  What are your favorite bands?

Chris:  I like House of Heroes, Oasis, Sons of Korah, Andrew Peterson, even though I don't have their CD yet, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.  Umm, Showbread, Thrice,

*another intermission as he goes to grab his iPod.  Please enjoy this picture of Wilhelmus a Brackel:*

We're back:

Chris:  Brave Saint Saturn, I reckon that's it.

Me:  K.  Umm, what's your favorite movie?

Chris:  I have a couple different favorites.

Me:  Well, tell the peeps what they are.

Chris:  Ok.  "Saving Private Ryan", "Black Hawk Down", "Luther", uhh, umm,

*bear with us folks, another intermission.  Enjoy this picture of Martin Luther*

We're back.

Chris:  "Shenandoah", "Touch of Evil", "Where Eagles Dare", "The Maltese Falcon", "Master & Commander", "Pork Chop Hill", "Battleground", "Sahara" (with Humphrey Bogart), and pretty much any Humphrey Bogart movie.

Me:  What is your favorite food?

Chris:  Uhh, I guess anything homemade.

Me:  No way, that's always my answer, too.

Chris:  Cool.

Me: Yes, yes, it is.  What is your favorite sport?

Chris:  Do you need to ask?

Me:  It's for our adoring audience.

Chris:  REAL Football.

Me:  What is your favorite team?

Chris:  I have two, A.C. Milan and Manchester United.

Me:  Who is your favorite Footballer?

Chris:  Well, I have a couple.

Me:  Share them with us.

Chris:  Uhh, Alexandre Pato, uhh, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, umm, Wayne Rooney, and uhh, Kaka, one more; we'll go with, Alessandro Nesta.

Me:  Cool.  What's your favorite fruit?

Chris:  Uhh, the pineapple or strawberry.

Me:  What is your favorite holiday?

Chris:  Probably St. Patricks Day....not really, umm, well, I guess it'd be Christmas.

Me:  What do you like to do?

Chris:  Read, watch Football, play FIFA, listen to music, woodworking, play guitar, smoke my pipe on occasion.  I went on a helicopter ride once and enjoyed it immensly.  Hiking, work outside.

Me:  What's your favorite show?

Chris:  Show?  Umm, now this is a tough question.  Uhh, "Band of Brothers", History Channel, Military Channel, Fox Soccer Channel.

Me:  What are your favorite songs?

Chris:  Uhh, let me look at my iPod real quick, Mr. a Brackel (the name of his iPod).  "Leave You Now" by House of Heroes, "Abide With Me" by Matthew Perryman Jones, "The Grace of My God" by Matt Giles, "Led To The Slaughter" by Red Letter, "Daylight" by Brave Saint Saturn, "Psalm 24" by Sons of Korah, "Jesus Paid It All" and "My Song Is Love Unknown" by Bob Kauflin and Together For The Gospel.

Me:  Do you think Air1 and KLove are highly overrated?

Chris:  Yeah.

Me:  Yes, I totally agree.  If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Chris:  Scotland.

Me:  What is your favorite animal?

Chris:  Turtles are pretty cool.

Me:  What is your favorite season?

Chris:  Autumn.

Me:  Pirate or knight?

Chris:  Knight.

Me:  What is your favorite time of day and why?

Chris:  Early morning, just because.

Me:  If you had a dog, what would it's name be? and what kind would you want?

Chris:  I guess I'd like a beagle.  I'd probably name him, Spalatin.

Me:  Cool.  If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

Chris:  I'd buy myself a private plane.  Umm, I'd build myself a huge library and fill it up with Puritan works.  Uhh, I'd buy Mother a cookstove and a farm.  I'd buy you everything you wanted.  I'd buy Pap a bunch of Nebraska Cornhuskers stuff and a huge truck.  I'd buy Tommy some land and I'd help him build a cabin on it.  I'd give the rest away.

Me:  What is your favorite weapon?

Chris:  A bow...and arrows, of course.

Me:  Country or city?

Chris:  I don't know, I kinda like both.

Me:  Rain, snow, or sun?

Chris:  Sun, although I do like snow.

Me:  Do you like Christmas trees?

Chris:  They're ok, I guess.

Me:  Palace or castle?

Chris:  Castle.

Me:  What is your favorite Christmas song?

Chris:  Umm, well, I like "Little Drummer Boy" by Whiteheart.  I also like "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel".

Me:  Thank you to Chris and for everyone tuning in tonight.  A very goodnight, good morning, or whatever where ever you are to you!

Chris:  Sure, you little goofball.

Seeing as this interview was all about Chris, he has chosen a video he would like me to add, so here it is.
In A.C. Milan's game this past weekend, Klaas Jan Huntelaar came on in the 85th(?) minute and scored two goals within two minutes in added time (which was 3 minutes) to win the game 2-nil.  Here are his goals that we found on youtube.com:

Later peeps, I hope you enjoyed this interview!  I know I did :)

My Latest Creations

I wanted to write a post but didn't really know what to write so after looking through a few pictures on our 'puter I was inspired!
I have some leftover yarn from things I've crocheted so decided to crochet a scarf and see if we could sell it on ebay or an online store Mommy is creating.  However, I changed my mind and decided to give it as a gift for my cousin's, Mikey, fiancee.  I don't know her well at all, but that's not important :)

Here it is in the works, but almost done.

Wouldn't ya know it?  Brittany bear offered to model it for me:)  What do ya think?  It really is quite warm, she told me....no, not really, had you goin' though, didn't I??  It's kinda long (like the style is these days) so you can fold it over and pull it through.  It is warm though.

As a couple people who read my blog know, my Memaw has been giving me painting lessons.  She told me to choose the picture I wanted to paint and this is it:

Memaw said that it wouldn't be her choice for a first painting, lol, but if that's what I wanted then we'd do it.  So, a couple of weeks ago we finished it:

There's mine.

There's my signature up-close.

Well, what do YOU think of my new creations?  (No rude or mean comments, please).

Good night.

Grace be with you all!
God bless and keep you!

Thanksgiving

Hello folks. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Though, I imagine the people in other countries that don't celebrate it didn't have one;) I hope they're thankful anyway:)
Ours was lovely! We spent the day at Memaw and Grandpa's and I spent the whole time playing with my little 8 year old cousin Randi Michelle, which was a blast! She's such a cutie:)
Of course, no one in my family likes to have their pictures taken so I can't put up any pictures except of her and me. Mommy took a few pictures of Chris, but he wouldn't want me to put them up here, so I shan't. (This is why there are only pictures of myself and not my Mommy or brothers. My Daddy doesn't really mind too much;)).

We also put up and decorated their Christmas tree, so here are a couple of pictures of it:

Randi Michelle and me:)

And again.

Just Randi:)

Probably my favorite picture we took :) Grandpa, me, and Randi Michelle.

One more of Randi Michelle and me (with Grandpa in the background).

My Punkin Cheesecake!

Mommy's Sweet Tater Casserole without pecans.

Mommy's Sweet Tater Casserole with pecans. (She always has to make two because Daddy doesn't like pecans).

Now onto something else:
One of my favorite bands is Family Force 5. Well, today one of the members 'Fatty' was rushed to the hospital with kidney problems. His brother, 'Soul Glow Activatur' has been updating his Twitter all day and Fatty is doing a little better, but I would like you all to keep Fatty (who's real name is Joshua Olds; and Soul Glow's real name is Solomon Olds) in your prayers please. Thanks.

Good night or good morning or good evening or good whatever, depending upon where you live!

Grace be with you all!

A Post From My Cousin, Randi Michelle

hi what you doin'

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Happy Birthday, Becca Barlow!!

Yes, my friends, it's true, this is yet another Birthday post.
Miss Rebecca Barlow (Barlow Girl) turns 30 today!!!! Sheesh! LOL!
Unfortunately, I don't really know what to say about her because she seems kind of quiet and such so I don't know much about her.
However, she's the oldest sister in the Christian all girl band, Barlow Girl, she seems like a nice person, lol;) Nah, she is sweet, I'm sure. I don't think she sings much on their songs but she does have a sweet voice. She plays the guitar and that's all I can think of about the girl. Oh, wait, her favorite book of the Bible is Ecclesiastes. How do I know that? Because I asked her once, LOL! A few years ago they were on this Christian radio show called Total Axxess and Mommy called in for me to talk to them. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life (if you could hear it, you'd understand;) yes, it's true we recorded it on cassette tape;)), anyway, I asked the girls what their favorite book of the Bible was, just barely, 'cause I couldn't breathe very well, haha!
Anyway, let us now get to the picture part:

Happy Birthday, Miss Becca!
I know that wasn't much of a Birthday post, but there's only so much one can say about a person they don't know, lol!

Grace be with you all!

The Best Brothers Ever!

Howdy there, y'all!
I thought I would share a little bit of information about my brothers, as Tommy's Birthday was October 16th and Chris' was yesterday.
First of all, let me start off by saying, they are the BEST brothers in the whole world and I love 'em sooooo much!
Now, I can't really do them one at a time, seeing as there's a lot about them that is the same, so we'll just see how all this comes out.
They're very protective of me and have never, ever been mean to me. Growing up, we always enjoyed being together and playing little games together. To this day, we enjoy being together, even though Tommy is 25, Chris is 23, and I'm 19. They're two of my very best friends.
Tommy moved out last year and so I like to text him sometimes and enjoy talking to him on the phone. He doesn't mind when I text him either, indeed I think he likes it:)
Both of them can comfort quite well. They're strong, but gentle when they need to be.
One thing about Chris is that he's always liked holding my hand (for some reason, my hands have always been soft and warm, even though I don't do anything to them). If he and I are sitting next to each other watching something or whatever, he has to hold my hand.
Several years ago, I fell and broke my ankle. When we were at the hospital waiting to get my X-Rays, I had to sit in a wheelchair, of course, and then Chris was sitting next to me in a different chair, of course, and he held my hand. What other brother would hold his sister's hand?? Especially, out in public???!!!!
When Mommy and I are hurting or whatever, it hurts Chris so much, that sometimes he cries with us and he holds us. Tommy isn't really like that, he just holds us. It's not that Chris is weak or anything because he is very strong (as is Tommy), he's just different when it comes to things like that.
When Chris had his seizures, Tommy was the strong one. The rest of us were a mess and Tommy was the one saying, "It's ok" and all that. I obviously didn't know what was going on when I had mine, but I know that Chris cried with me and both he and Tommy were helping Mommy and Daddy.
Both of my boys (that's what I call them. Daddy is 'my boy' too:)) are gentlemen.
One time, a few years ago, Mommy, Daddy, Chris, and I were going into a little convenient store to get some snacks and there were these two guys outside arguing and cursing. Chris stood out there for a moment, telling the guys to watch their language because there were ladies around, he didn't say it calmly either. I heard one of the guys apologize and I thought, "Yep, that's my Chris".
They're always opening the door for Mommy and me, and keeping it open for any other lady that might come along. Anytime Mommy or I might drop something, if Chris is around he'll pick it up for us real quick, without giving us a chance.
Tommy and I are alike in many ways, but Mommy calls Chris and me her 'twins' sometimes because we're so much alike. There have been times when he and I say the same thing at the exact same time, sometimes all we have to do is look at each other and we know what the other is thinking about something. Someone can say something and he and I will look at each other because something we've thought or said before we're both thinking about it. We both like almost the same of everything. If one of us are down or having a bad day, we need only spend a little while together and we can make the other happy. If one of us have a headache or aren't feeling well, once again, we need only a little while together and even though we still might not feel well, we make the other one feel better. We love spending time together and dream about going to England, Italy, and Spain together to see Football games. It's not enough that we're both alike in so many ways, we both have Epilepsy!
Chris always says that Tommy and I have 'the cool factor', LOL! Chris is cool too though;)
When Tommy lived here, sometimes he would have to take me to the grocery store and we had fun just doing that. He would push the cart and pop it up on it's back wheels and push it around like that, LOL! Now, when Mommy, Chris, and I go out to go to the store or whatever, Chris will sometimes come in with me and we have fun too:)
So, you see, no matter what the three of us are doing together, even the littlest thing, we have fun together. We also know each other quite well, having been homeschooled for most of our schooling and spending so much time together.
The three of us also love all the old-fashioned ways (we get that from Mommy), though we do appreciate computers and iPods. Chris isn't a phone talker at all, but phones are a good thing;)
I would post a picture of my brothers, but they don't want me to, so I'm not gonna.
Yes, so I have the best brothers in the whole entire universe and I am so thankful for them! My life wouldn't be the same without 'em:)

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYS TOMMY & CHRIS!!!!!!!
Love you both soooooo much!!!!!!

Grace be with you all!

MakeShift3

I am friends with this band on MySpace called MakeShift3 (they're really good and you should give them a listen to. You can get their CD's at their MySpace for 3.99 each!) and they wrote me this long message and asked my opinion about it and this is the answer I gave them. I know it's long, so it's up to you to read it but I would appreciate it if you would.
So they asked me about being a Christian band instead of a secular band as Christians, this is my answer to them (they also asked me other stuff that's why this is so long and not all about that one question):
If we look at Thrice, they're not a Christian band but the lead singer is a Christian and sometimes the lyrics in their songs are more Biblical than many Christian bands (not speaking of any one band in particular). I'm not saying every Christian band should go secular, unless, of course, God leads them to do so.
To be a secular band instead of a Christian band should never be about money. As Christians we are to spread the Love of Jesus Christ in any way possible. It's not about how we do it, it's about actually doing it. We were not put here to make money or be famous or anything like that, we were put here to love God and to spread His Word with others that do not know Him, not everyone will be saved, but that doesn't mean we should give up and just not do anything about it. God has ordained who will and who won't be saved, (For He says to Moses, "I will have on mercy on whom I have mercy , and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion": Romans 9:15) no Christian wants a loved one to go to Hell and we can do everything we can to try to save them, but it is not up to us. (I am not in any way taking that lightly). Jesus Christ died for God's elect (
And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.-Matthew 24:22: For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.-Matthew 24:24: And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.-Matthew 24:31: And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?-Luke 18:7: Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.-Romans 8:33: though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls—-Romans 9:11: Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.-2 Timothy 2:10) and He calls us to be His disciples, to share the Gospel. We are not here for our own glory, but to glorify God in all that we do (So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.-1 Corinthians 10:31). All of us were conceived and born in sin, there is only one way to be saved, through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ, but we can only be God's if He first loved us. You and I love God because He first loved us. We were dead in our sin and trespasses and yet God had compassion on us, not because of our works, but because of Jesus' shed Blood. Because of Him we can come to the Father in prayer, because of Him we were made Righteous. We cannont come to God unless Jesus intercedes for us and He will not unless we are saved (which, again, is not our choice). Isn't it awesome (in the true sense of the word) to be able to come to God because of Christ? As Christians, we are to be examples of God's abundant and beautiful love He has bestowed upon us, even to fellow Christians. God is Love, none can have real love unless God is in them, but we do not come to Christ on our own, God calls His elect to come to Him, in any way He so chooses. I long for my life to be a living sacrifice to Him and to have no glory saved for myself, He is deserving of ALL glory. God has ordained everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen all before there was time. He is Almighty, Awesome, Omnipresent, knowing all. Without Him we would have no life, without Christ we would be dead. Praise to be to God for giving us life to live forever with Him in eternity! Praise be to Him that we are not living dead. We are all unworthy of His love, by no work of ours can we be saved, it is all in Christ. Yes, non-Christians are living, but they are not living alive. Saying all of that, I am in no way saying that any of us is better than another, there is only One Perfect One, Jesus Christ. I am the worst of sinners and yet God loves me, a lowly, despicable being. The Lord of all loves me, those words are way beyond comprehension. Sometimes, I think about the whole universe and how God created it and He is so much bigger than all of that (unfortunately, not enough times), how Holy and Beautiful He is, how Majestic and Almighty, and then think of me....little old me, who am I that God would love me so much to send His Son, Holy, Spotless Lamb, One who knew no sin and then died as a sinner so I could have life and have it in abundance in Him, who am I? No one.
Yes, most of the time, as a Christian, life is not perfect, but Jesus Christ never said it would be easy, just that He would be with us through everything.
Sometimes, it is very hard to believe those words, but God's Word is TRUTH and we must pray for the grace to soak in and believe those Holy Words.
On June 16th of this year, my Pawpaw passed away and I don't know if he was a Christian. Oh, I always think, if only I would've witnessed more to him about the Love of God, but I didn't. You know why? Because I was afraid, I was afraid he would be angry with me, I'm not even entirely sure that I even knew exactly how to. You can't just go up to a person and say, "God loves you." because you don't know if He really does, you have to show them God's Word, you have to pray for God to speak through you and then pray for the person to whom you are speaking, God is in control. There is nothing we can do on our own. I remember the day he passed away, all I thought was, "Was he saved? Where is he?", I could cry just thinking about that. I love him and miss him so much.

(Unfortunately, MySpace doesn't have spell-checks so I just re-read this with the spell-check and I messed up a couple words, oi, how embarrssing! I'm really particular about that sort of thing.)
I do not want to start a debate or anything, I am just giving my own opinion. I hope to not offend anyone either.

Alive because of His Blood,
Katie Bekah

NEEDTOBREATHE

I've never gotten a CD before that the songs are exactly what I need to hear at a certain time of my life even if some of them don't apply to me at all. However, NEEDTOBREATHE's CD "The Outsiders" is different. Although some of the songs aren't applicable to me at all, they're still just perfect.
The songs God has used to speak to me the most are as follows:
"Through Smoke"
"Lay 'em Down"
"Garden"
"These Hard Times" (that's the main song)
"Something Beautiful"
"Let Us Love" and one I just love even if the lyrics don't apply to me,
"Valley of Tomorrow"
Not exactly sure why "Valley of Tomorrow" but it's just an awesome song.
You know, it's funny, something that just occurred to me is that on all 3 of their CD's there have been songs that were just what I needed to hear, even still when I listen to them, they're the right words.
There's just something about NEEDTOBREATHE that's different, in a good way, of course, than any other band, in my opinion. Their lyrics, sound, Bear's voice, it all just works perfectly. God has certainly blessed them with wonderful gifts and talent. It seems every time I got their CD's I loved them even more. In my opinion, "The Outsiders" is their best yet!
If you don't have any of their CD's or have never even heard their music, I highly encourage you to listen to them, they're just so dang great!
My favorite bands are Family Force 5 and Esterlyn, now NEEDTOBREATHE are definitely up there with them.
Thank you Bear, Bo, Seth, and Joe for blessing us with your awesome music and wonderful lyrics!
(I don't really think they'll read this, but why not say it anyway, aye?).

(Oh gosh, Guitargirl, look at Bear!!!!! LOL! Unfortunately, we don't see Seth's teeth, haha!!) Ya know, I really wanted to keep this serious, but I just had to put that in there for Guitargirl:)

Onto other news, someone got Family Force 5's Christmas CD yesterday and that someone loves it and thinks everyone should go out and get it, that someone is also me:) Yes folks, it rocks, go get it!

Tharrrr's da covarrr of da CD!

Today was my brother, Tommy's, 25th Birthday so he came over here and we made him supper, we also bought a pre-made apple pie at the grocery store, there's a reason I didn't make one, but I'm not going to say. We had a good time with him, we always do!

Good night, peeps!
Grace be with you all!

Churros & Hot Chocolate Recipe

Here's the recipe for the Churros and Hot Chocolate (hence the title of the post;)).

Churros:

  • 8 cups vegetable or olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional

Hot Chocolate:

  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons sugar

Directions

Churros: 8 cups vegetable or olive oil 1 cup water 1/2 cup margarine or butter 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup all-purpose flour 3 eggs 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional

Hot Chocolate: 4 ounces dark chocolate 2 cups milk 1 tablespoon cornstarch 4 tablespoons sugar

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan to 360 degrees F.

To make the churro dough, heat the water, margarine, and salt to a rolling boil in a 3-quart saucepan. Add the flour and stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball, approximately 1 minute and remove from heat. Beat eggs until smooth and add to the saucepan while stirring the mixture.

Spoon the mixture into a piping bag with a star tip. Squeeze 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry 3 or 4 strips at a time until golden brown, turning once, about 2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and roll the churros in the sugar mixture. Set aside until ready to serve.

To prepare the hot chocolate for dipping, place the chocolate and half the milk in a saucepan over very low heat and cook, stirring, until the chocolate has melted. Dissolve the cornstarch in the remaining milk and whisk into the chocolate with the sugar. Cook on low heat, whisking constantly until the chocolate thickens, approximately 5 minutes. Remove and whisk until smooth. Pour chocolate into cups and serve with churros.

If anyone has a stupid stove like we do, you'll probably have to whisk it for like 15 or so minutes, lol;)

Anyway, seeing as how I can't think of anything else to say at the moment, I'll just leave you a video of NEEDTOBREATHE's new song "Lay 'Em Down". The song is off their new CD "The Outsiders", hope you enjoy!

Have a blessed day!

Grace be with you all!

Hot Chocolate

For those of you that don't know me, I LOVE chocolate, just love it! I make a very good (if I do say so myself) hot cocoa! Well, actually what I do is either use Nesquick in hot milk or homemade hot cocoa mix in hot water and then my part is.....the toppings! Observe:

This is Mommy's cup, running over, that's the best way to have it! It has a layer of marshmallows, homemade whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, freshly ground cinnamon, freshly ground nutmeg!

This is just a close up.

Here's mine, it's the same thing but not as running over-ish, lol!

Here's a close-ish up pic of it.

Now, to a hot chocolate that I didn't come up with, but now love! Chris and I were watching the Travel Channel the other day and Samantha Brown was in Madrid, Spain and this is one of the delicious things she got! I unintentionally found the recipe online. Of course, mine doesn't look near as good as the one she got and it most likely isn't as good, but it was still tasty nonetheless. Let me go look for a picture of the real thing online! Here we go:

Doesn't that look delicious????? I don't know whose hand that is by the way;)

Here's mine:
I know it looks kind of pitiful compared to the real thing, but it was good:)

Anyway, that's my Madrid-y hot chocolate and churros! Of course, Chris and I want to go there someday so we'll still have to get it;)
Oh, another thing about my first hot chocolate, I also like to put ice cream in it sometimes, like mint chocolate chip.
I'll give the recipe I used for this one soon, I need to go to bed now:)

Grace be with you all!

Tour of My Room: Part 4

Howdy y'all!
First of all, I don't know if y'all scroll down far enough to read my Twitter updates but you should:p Anyway, right now it's soooo dang cold here and I soooo dang love it, haha! See, I mentioned it being cold on my Twitter so that's why I told you about my Twitter:) By the way, everyone needs to visit my Esterlyn fansite because no one does and it makes me sad:(
I would like to share with you part 4 of my tour:)

These are some earrings I made for myself.

Junior Asparagus was kind enough to model one for me:)

Pooh, is sooooo not an earring type of guy but he, too, was kind enough to model them for me:)

Here we have Meghan Kitty modeling the earrings for me as well. I know it's not a very good picture but I tried.

Brittany Bear:)

Nani bear was kind enough to model them for me, too:)

Then we have me....I'm actually in our living room, but ya know, I think it still counts:p...so who do you like better? Personally, I like Nani bear, however Junior Asparagus follows close behind with that one earring, he looks pretty cute, kind of like a pirate (woohoo, Guitargirl, lol!) ;)

Umm, a Barlow Girl poster, Precious Moments calendar, a wallhanging Mommy made of her favorite picture, two sachets, and a little cell phone holder that I actually don't use anymore because the little tassel on the side is falling apart:(

This is a little bracelet that my little cousin Randi Michelle made for me for Christmas of '06:) It looks like she scribbled on the paper and then tore it up and then she put it on some tape. Unfortunately, I can't wear it because it would fall apart, but I keep it on a little shelf in my room next to two picture I have of her:)

This is a painting by my FAVORITE artist...my Memaw!!! Isn't it soooo pretty! She is sooo talented:)

This is a journal that Mommy and Chris got me for my Birthday, uuhh, this year, I think. It's so pretty.

My jewelry stuff layin' on my floor:)

This is the wallpaper on my phone...go United!!! I took a picture of my Manchester United scarf and voila, put it as my wallpaper!

I think that's all the pictures I have for you today.

Here's a video of one of my favorite singers, Hayley Westenra...well, and some other people but she's the only one that matters:p I love this song by them! The ice skaters are good, too, though:)

Hope you enjoyed that!

My "Love & War" Barlow Girl Shirt

Ok, so I don't really like this shirt on me but I wear it anyway because it's Barlow Girl-y-ish and I want to support 'em. I'm going to put a picture up of me wearing it even though I really don't want to, but I'm doing it because my bff, Katie, wants to see it, so here it is:
Have a blessed Sabbath!

Tour of My Room: Part 3

Hello again folks, it has been awhile:)
Ok, so first of all, the Lord has blessed us with an awesome thunderstorm goin' on now.

I hope I have enough pictures for my 3rd tour! If not I'll just add different ones:)

This is a charm bracelet I made with green, clear, and black beads and a Celtic heart charm. I was in a Celtic mood and wanted to make this bracelet. I found all of the pieces at Hobby Lobby, which is wear I get all my jewelry making supplies.

Here's what it looks like when it's clasped. Here's a close-up of the charm.

Hear we have Brittany the Bear modeling my "Love & War" Barlow Girl necklace (Thanks Brittany! LOL!).
Here's a close up.

This is my pretty ESV Bible.
I was sitting on my floor the other day with my camera and thought I would take a picture of our 'doorstopper'. It's one of my cowgirl boots with a sock sticking out of it:) We only use it when it's real windy.

While sitting there I thought I would take a picture of my feet. That little scar there is from scratching my foot too hard;)

I also happened to look over and saw Elsie sitting there looking at me, lol, so had to take a picture of her.

Aww, look at that pretty little picture of Barlow Girl....oh wait I think there's something wrong with it...shall we take a closer look?
Whoa, I think there's something wrong with Becca and Alyssa. What's that? You want a closer look??...
I'm thinkin' those two have issues.
A close up of their faces. Wait, hold on...what about Lauren?
There's nothing wrong with Lauren...hmm. Yes, folks, this is what happens when one is bored, you have a couple of pens and a Barlow Girl picture in front of you, and Lauren is your favorite.
Until next time, enjoy this video of an unintelligent tennis player, made by...yours truly:
