God's Saving Hands

Lately, I have been thinking of different ways God has saved us from certain things and so I decided to share them.
The funny thing is, when we visited Memaw & Grandpa on the 23rd (Memaw's Birthday), Memaw was telling Chris and me of things like that, too, that have happened to her. Even things like being able to open a jar or something when no one is there to help her or being at a store and needing help with getting something and someone comes along and asks if she needs help, etc. One thing in particular I will share at the end.
First, I want to start off with Mommy:
Several years ago, my Mommy had to go to her Dr. for a check-up, when she came back to the car, there was something she didn't tell us.
The night before she had to go again, I was in bed and really worried about her and started crying. Chris' bed was in my room back then (we're in a bigger room now) and I told him how I was feeling, so we went downstairs to tell Mommy but she was asleep. We came back upstairs, sat on the floor, held hands, and prayed for her. I remember that one of us said (and I don't know why we would've said it) something like, "If there is something wrong, please take it out of her."
When Mommy came out of the Dr.'s office the next day, she was crying. When she got in the van, we asked her what was wrong. She told us that the last time she went they found cancerous cells in her but when she went that day, there were no traces of any.
Only by God's hands can something miraculous like that happen.
To this day tears come to my eyes and I say a prayer of thanks to my King when I think about that. This brings to mind Matthew 18:20:
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
That rang so true that night!
Now, what all have I been through? Oh boy!
When we lived in our old house, we had iron steps out of our kitchen door, at the bottom was a concrete platform, which led to our backyard. I don't remember how this happened but, one day I fell all the way down the steps to the concrete. Daddy and Mommy were in the backyard and they said that it looked like I was falling in slow-motion. I didn't have the tiniest scratch and was in no way injured. Only God can protect me like that.
Another time in our old house (I don't know how this happened either), I was in the living room by myself sitting in front of the television for some reason and it fell on my legs. Daddy, Mommy, Tommy, and Chris came rushing in and got it off of me. I wasn't hurt in the least bit. Only God can keep me from being hurt.
Many years ago, we were bike riding in a park and I fell off my bike and started rolling down a woody hill and would've gone all the way down in disgusting water if Daddy hadn't pulled me back. I was in no way injured. Only because of God was I alright.
There was one time, we were on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN staying at the Midtown Lodge and we decided to go swimming. Since I was just a little girl I was in the shallow part while Mommy, Daddy, and Chris were in the deep end (Tommy was unable to swim due to a deep cut in his leg). I decided to swim over to them but, I didn't (and still don't) know how to swim. Instead of making it over to them, I started going under the water. Somehow, they didn't see me. The next thing I knew, I was back in the shallow end and there was no one around me to have brought me back. They didn't even know up until a few years ago, I'm not really sure why I didn't tell them before. Only God could've brought me back to the shallow end.
Now, onto Memaw's story.
The other day, she was going in her front door and she had mail in one hand and something else in the other. There are two steps that go up to her front door. As she reached for the door handle, she started falling. Now, she couldn't jump off or anything like other people can. The next thing she knew, she was standing on the sidewalk, facing the road. Keep in mind, she was by herself, facing the door, and yet ended up standing on the sidewalk facing the road. Only God could have saved her from falling and brought her back standing safely on the sidewalk. This brings to mind Psalm 91:11-12:
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
How can anyone say there is no God?
There is no other explanation for the cancerous cells being completely gone from Mommy or for me not getting the least bit hurt through all that I have been or Memaw being saved from falling and me being saved from drowning when there was no one around us. Only God can do what is impossible for man. This brings to mind Matthew 19:26:
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
There have been more things than that, like there was no reason for us to be saved from car accidents.
There were a couple of times when we were late leaving and later found out that there was a car accident where we would have been if we had left on time.
One time, Tommy, Chris, and I were with our Aunt Nana at a store and we were waiting in the check-out line forever to leave. When we finally did leave we drove by a car accident where we probably would have been if we had left earlier.
Nothing is impossible with God and He is the One who kept us waiting in places for so long, perhaps to keep us safe and protect us from harm. The One who is watching over us every second of every day. That's not to say that bad things have never happened to us but as you can see, there were many times where something bad SHOULD'VE happened, but DIDN'T.
God be praised!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!-Psalm 150:6

Alive because of His Blood,
Bekah

Those are some awesome (in the true sense of the word) testimonies of our Lord! WOW!

When Ronnie was just a baby, a little over a year, we were at a friend's house. Their house was split level. We were on the top level and their couch was backed against a little wall/railing thing about waist high. Ronnie, ever curious, decides to climb all over the couch and onto that railing. He falls at least ten feet to their entry way floor-a marble floor. Not a bruise, concussion or bump.

God works in mysterious ways. :)
